A lone figure stands resignedly atop a large bluff in this striking silkscreen by acclaimed artist Mackenzie Thorpe.
See how the fragile figure is dwarfed by his position and peers down cautiously while remaining a safe distance from the sharply sloping edge?
One can only begin to image how a safe descent from such a predicament could be possible, which creates a sense of urgency in the sombre, sharply contrasting hues of black and white.
The title certainly represents the goings on in the image and in fact draws us into Mackenzie's creation to take a closer look.
As the male stands on top of an oversized black hill, he look all the more fragile and miniature, yet his silhouette is very much clear to the viewer.
The actual composition of the piece allows for the white background to play a huge part in contributing to the overall image and this certainly makes for an interesting and different style of Thorpe's work to emerge.
