Here, artist Caroline Shotton provides us with her take on the best known, most written about, most studied, and most visited piece of artwork ever known: Leonardo da Vinci's Mona Lisa.
A Shotton work is at its best when a cow is quite literally in the picture. Therefore, the Mona Lisa as we know her appears before us as the Moona Lisa as she takes on the form of a cow but still carries that same fixed gaze.
Caroline Shotton's cheeky take on possibly the most famous image in the world, 'The Mona Lisa,' sees a quaint looking cow, lazily posing for the artist. Caroline cleverly uses monotone colours that perfectly complement the muted look on this comical cow's face.
There is an almost a: 'Im ready for my close up Mr Deville,' look to this picture - the most famous line from the film 'Sunset Boulevard.'
Spring 2012 sees the release of this new Shotton.
One of 4 pieces that follow up to Caroline Shotton's - 'The Great Moosters' collection (November 2007). Described as 'The Greatest Classics Of All Time with a modern day slant'
Demand for the original collection was high and people still enquire today if they can get 'those pieces.' Finally her fans are able to get their hands on these cute & compact pieces, a fitting continuation of The Great Moosters
