Storm Over Africa by David Shepherd

This artwork belongs to a rather special subset of the late artist's limited edition work and is part of the 'David Shepherd - Silkscreen Series', of which there where at least 12 published in his lifetime.

Beautiful blue storm clouds form the backdrop of 'Storm Over Africa' featuring a herd of elephants on the African plain, and like ‘Dusty Evening’ a single bull elephant becomes the main focal animal.

A lone egret remains on the ground in the left foreground, on the other side of the foliage, as other birds fly off into the distance.

David was not simply a fantastic painter of wildlife, he was also a very accomplished landscape artist and this is a rather beautiful display of both, finished off with a high quality silkscreen finish.
