Work Rest And Play by Nigel Hemming

‘Work Rest & Play,’ for those who are old enough to remember, was originally a slogan used in advertising for Mars chocolate bars in the UK, the full phrase: 'A Mars a day helps you work, rest and play!'

Used from 1959 -1995 and then again in 2008 for a new series of adverts, check out this vintage Mars Bar commercial.

Nigel Hemming of course nods his cap to the many TV adverts and shows the same pair of black labradors in different stages of the day! Which us your favourite? I do think 'Rest' is a lovely image of the dogs in the family home relaxing.

According to this website, labradors have been the UK's most popular dog breed all but 1 year from 2018 - 2024 (date of the article), an incredible achievement considering all the new popular breeds in the UK!
